INDIAN OCEAN (Dec. 22, 2020) A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 164 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, lands on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). USS America (LHA 6) transits the Philippine Sea. PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 9, 2021) An F-35B Lightning II assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) lands on the flight deck o the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6).
