USS Galveston (CL-93/CLG-3) was a Cleveland class light cruiser of the United States Navy that was later converted to a Galveston class guided missile cruiser.
She was launched by William Cramp and Sons Shipbuilding Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania., 22 April 1945: and sponsored by Mrs. Clark Wallace Thompson. The Royal Navy Submarine Museum originally shared: HMS Thunderbolt was sunk by Italian corvette Cicogna off Sicily on 14 March 1943. The submarine had previously sunk on 1 June 1939 during trials before being repaired and renamed from HMS Thetis to HMS Thunderbolt.
