Not as hot, only 24 and it poured down with rain and thundered so it does feel a little fresher. Mei and I went to the butchers and got a leg of lamb and half a steak fillet so I will probably have a roast in the next few days. Tonight it will be chicken barbecued and salad. The lamb here mostly comes from Inner Mongolia and is very good and reasonably cheap – around NZ$8.00 a leg and they always bone it, ( I like chewing on the bone so I sometimes get them to leave it in). Students are on holiday and are everywhere, if you can imagine the whole of the NZ population in one smallish city about the size of Nelson then you will know how many are walking around and shopping and doing extra classes.
