Chinese Navy escort Task Group participate in soccer match and courtesy call

The Chinese Navy Escort Task Group was warmly welcomed by Flag Officer Fleet (FOF), R. Adm B.K Mhlana, on 17 June 2014 in his office at Fleet Command Headquarters, Simon’s Town. The aim of this visit was to renew international relations and to enhance contact between the South African Navy and the Chinese Navy.

Gifts were exchanged during the courtesy call and they participated in round table discussions. Later they met the Officer Commanding of SAS CHARLOTTE MAXEKE, Cdr R.D Beattie, who gave them a guided tour of the submarine.
