Want further evidence of the interest of the Russian authorities for the Northern Sea Route? Here it is: German yards (where the Russian financial interests represent 50%) launched in September 2014 the two icebreakers relief they had Starts 23 September 2013 It will have taken a year to build two ships MPSV06 (Multi Purpose Rescue & Salvage Vessel) project which the order was placed in December 2012 and bear the names of Murmansk and the Bering Strait. They are respectively registered in Murmansk Korsakov on Sakhalin Island. Delivery is scheduled for 2015.
