While on its long journey from the Mediterranean Sea, across the Aegian Sea to the Black Sea, the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG 67) conducted multiple operations.
The vessel conducted small boat operations and a passenger transfer, as well as a pre-action caliber fire exercise with USS Ross (DDG 71) during which USS Cole launched an MK 45 5-inch lightweight gun and a periodic scheduled maintenance of a Mark 32 torpedo tube.
USS Cole also engaged in replenishment-at-sea (RAS) with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO 195).
