USS Birmingham hoses USS Princeton 1944

Off central Luzon on 24 October 1944, at 1110, about 90 minutes after a Japanese bomb hit the Princeton, firefighters on board the Birmingham train hoses on the burning carrier. The cruiser fought the blazes until reports of enemy aircraft and submarines in the area forced her to pull clear of the Princeton.
