This vessel is the HMAS Anzac (D59), a Battle-class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy, notable for being the first major warship built in Australia after World War II.
It served from 1951 to 1974, playing roles in the Korean War and later acting as a training ship.
The ship was constructed at the Williamstown Naval Dockyard and was officially commissioned on March 14, 1951. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Battle-class destroyers were late-WWII, gun-heavy fleet destroyers optimized for Pacific anti-aircraft combat. The post-war Daring-class destroyers were larger, significantly more modernized “surrogate cruisers” designed around integrated radar, increased automation, and heavily improved crew comforts.
