Philippine Navy inspects Japanese warships for possible acquisition

NAVAL experts from the Philippine Navy (PN) have completed their inspection of six Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) destroyer escorts this month as possible additions to the Philippine fleet, a Japan-based media agency has reported.

Earlier in July, the PN announced its plan to acquire six Abukuma-class destroyer escorts to enhance border patrols and defense capabilities.
